BUSINESS COUNCIL
Founded in 2016, the Kentucky Business Council (KBC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for Kentucky businesses in Washington, D.C. By fostering connections with Members of Congress, state officials, and key decision-makers, KBC provides a platform for collaboration, networking, and policy advancement. Through events, receptions, and strategic initiatives, the council ensures that the voices of Kentucky’s business community are heard and that the Commonwealth’s interests are well represented on the national stage.
KBC’s mission is to support economic growth by facilitating dialogue, identifying solutions, and creating opportunities for businesses across Kentucky. With its unique position in D.C., KBC continues to bridge the gap between Kentucky businesses and federal policymakers, driving innovation and progress for the state.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Whitney VanMeter, founder and executive director of the Kentucky Business Council, brings over 20 years of expertise in government affairs, political advocacy, and corporate strategy to her leadership role. As a distinguished strategist and advisor, Whitney has dedicated her career to advancing policy priorities and creating meaningful connections between businesses and government officials.
Her vision for the Kentucky Business Council stems from her deep commitment to empowering Kentucky-focused businesses and fostering economic development. Leveraging her extensive experience, including a successful tenure as Vice President of Global Public Affairs at UPS, Whitney has guided KBC to become the premier platform for advocating Kentucky’s interests in Washington, D.C. Under her leadership, the council continues to serve as a catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and growth across the Commonwealth.
